Rituals are bodily enactments in real time and space, engaging us not only verbally, cognitively, imaginitevely, and emotionally but also through our bodies, by way of symbolically rich gestures. As ritual participants, we are thoroughly active, not just listening, observing or imagining but also living our deepest questions and truths, embodying our sacred symbols and life themes, and physically interacting with the achetypal qualities of the earth and the universal human experience. Immersion in the ritual process draws from us more than we anticipate.
