Why Yoga @ Work?

Yoga has been shown to promote overall wellness by boosting immunity, endurance and energy levels. Yoga and meditation help to decrease stress while cultivating mental focus and alertness.  Participants report greater joy, tranquility and a deepened appreciation for life. Yoga at work encourages work-life balance while providing employees with tools for increased health and wellness.

What is yoga?

Hatha Yoga comes from a rich philosophical tradition originating in India.  Light*Seed Yoga @ Work classes are based in asana (physical posture), pranayama (breathwork) as well as dhyana (meditation). Classes are a harmonious combination of physical posture and movement synchronized with breath and mindfulness meditation.

In addition to our incredibly popular Yoga @ Work program, Light*Seed has just launched two new workplace programs:

Meditation Classes (chillax @ work)
and
Creative Movement Classes (dance @ work)

We also  facilitate Lunch n’ Learn Seminars on a variety of wellness topics including Desk Yoga and Work/Life Balance.


Desk Yoga

Desk Yoga is offered on an ongoing basis and can also be presented as a Lunch 'n Learn seminar.  In these informative sessions we use yoga, breathwork and meditation to explore simple ways to improve posture and increase ease while sitting.  We practice yoga postures while seated at a desk to increase range of motion while stretching and relaxing the body.  The poses presented aim to open the hips, soothe the back and target tense areas such as the neck and shoulders.  Suggestions are made for ways to incorporate yoga, breathing and meditation into daily work routines. 

Accessible and enjoyable for all levels.
